Dental Bonding dentist koo-wee-rup.jpgDental bonding is a good option if you have slight imperfections in teeth; for example, a tooth is cracked or chipped or discoloured. The process is very straightforward as we apply a tooth-coloured composite resin to the tooth, using a shade that blends in with your natural teeth. Dental bonding is very cost-effective compared with other cosmetic dental procedures like veneers and crowns and can usually be completed during a single visit to our dental practice.

What Is the Process for Dental Bonding?

We need to prepare your teeth by applying a special etching fluid to the tooth surface, which roughens it slightly. This helps to increase the bond between the composite resin and your tooth. Once the tooth is ready, our dentist applies the composite resin directly to the tooth surface, hardening it with ultraviolet light. When all the material is in place, they will carefully shape and polish the resin, creating a natural-looking appearance and lustre.

Caring for Bonded Teeth

Caring for your teeth afterwards is easy as you simply need to brush them at least twice a day and floss a day. Be sure to come and see us for regular checkups and cleanings every six months.
